Did You See Me?
Did You See Me? is both a continuation of my Tate residency and an expanded iteration of my earlier project Who’s There? For Unit 3, I am building a soft, disorienting maze to explore misperception, fragmented identity, and emotional residue.
The installation occupies a small 10m² room and is constructed from translucent beige curtains, forming a walkable labyrinth. Visitors enter and move slowly between the layers, navigating uncertainty. Onto the fabric, I will project AI-generated visuals based on my personal dreams, childhood photos, and fragmented body prompts—images that feel almost decipherable, but remain unstable. The soundscape includes fragmented whispers, breathing noise, and ambient frequencies, generating a shifting emotional field.
Sculptural elements are still under development and may include small 3D-printed or cast forms—abstracted ears, snails, hands—that resemble displaced sensing organs or misinterpreted memory fragments. These forms are scattered throughout the space, serving both as objects of attention and moments of interference.
This is not a work about “being seen,” but about how perception is shaped, distorted, delayed. The project invites viewers into a fragile visual and spatial system where meaning slips, and what remains is a feeling that something just passed by.
Note:
The exhibition visualizations were generated using AI tools to conceptually illustrate the intended installation atmosphere, spatial
arrangement, and material interactions. These images are indicative and may slightly differ from the final realized setup.
