At the MA Fine Art Summer Show 2025, I presented Did You See Me?, a multi-sensory installation developed during Unit 3.

The work continues my exploration of dreams, viewing posture, and internal perceptual mechanisms, investigating how image, space, and memory intertwine — how the boundary between seeing and being seen is constantly reorganised through bodily experience.

The installation consists of a small room enclosed by semi-transparent curtains, inviting viewers to move slowly through its layers.

AI-generated projections unfold across the fabric, overlapping with resin sculptures, lace-covered domestic objects, and fragments of light — forming a quiet yet psychologically charged “theatre of dreams.”

As visitors bend and adjust their bodies while entering, they experience the physicality of seeing.

Concept and Atmosphere

Did You See Me? originates from my long-term practice of dream journaling.

Recurring images — houses, hidden figures, broken toys — are reconstructed through a misfired fairytale logic that merges sweetness with unease.

The projected visuals, generated by AI from my dream texts, intentionally preserve misreadings and distortions as part of the visual language.

Each curtain functions both as a screen and a veil.

Light and shadow overlap, penetrate, and dissolve across layers, blurring the line between image and object, between memory and hallucination.

Reflection and Process

This exhibition taught me to balance control and chance.

At first, I wanted a fully enclosed labyrinth, but the shifting light from the windows kept undoing my plans.

Gradually, I let the space form itself — the curtains fell into their own shape, the black fabric turned into part of the work.

It felt like a dream growing on its own, without design.

Visitors moved quietly, slowing down, sometimes saying they felt “watched back.”

At that point, the work was no longer about showing my dreams, but creating a shared state of perception — a space that blurred who was seeing and who was seen.

Moving forward, I plan to expand this dialogue through multi-channel video and spatial sound, exploring how AI’s misreadings and human sensitivity intertwine.
